syl or whatever

So I was chatting with my Mother online and she said,

"Well I have got to get some sewing done. SYL or whatever?"

I thought she meant T.T.Y.L. but then I guess S.Y.L could be See Ya Later.. but I don't really think thats what she was going for.
Its been a funny day. I am teaching one of my co-workers the ways of Facebook. He pointed out that his friend left him a comment but he didn't understand one part. He asked,

"What does BTW mean?"

I told him that it was short for By The Way and his response was,

"I only know BYOB!"
