I LOVE THANKSGIVING!
Every other year we get together for a Thanksgiving celebration with the Holt side of the family (my moms). Its a big extravaganza that takes place at our church because there are so many people, usually around 100. My mom has 3 brothers and two sisters. One of her brothers has 9 children, the other has 8 and all the other (except one) have at least 5 children. Then all of those children have children! Its nuts!

(Thanksgiving 1988)
Because my mom is the youngest of all all her brothers and sisters by at least 8 years, and didn't have children until 7 years after she was married,
my aunts and uncles had somewhat of a head start.
The closest first cousin I have is 1 year older than me.
Most of my cousins children are closer to my age.

(Thanksgiving 1996)
The day always starts out with basketball and then we set up and eat. After or during the meal there is always a family talent show. It's always a fun time. Then we eat pie and clean up. After everything is cleaned up the volleyball net goes up and the women's and children's crafts come out. We get to the church by 10:00 am and aren't out of there until 7:00 pm or so.
Then its game time at the Larsons!

TODAY!
Every year someone else is in charge. Everyone has a food assignment or something else. I was in charge of the favors this year. This year my cousins wife put together a DVD of pictures of all the family members. Even had some old ones of the grandparents (they died before my mom had any kids). It was a really neat video, thanks Mindi!
Thanksgiving is at least a 2 day event. Thanksgiving day is full and then the next day we always go to a movie. In the past its been Harry Potter or Work and the Glory.
This year its nothing other than, TWILIGHT!
Tomorrow night we will be doing the live Nativity at Tuachan. The whole cast will be my family. Its a big tradition in my family and I love it all!!
