long time commin'

I guess I haven't posted in a WHILE! Here is a re-cap on all that has gone down in the past few weeks. Lets start with Valentines -

We traveled down south to visit my family in STG! It was much needed and I loved every minute of it. We attended the Parade of homes and saw some beauties. I just don't understand why someone needs a basketball court, racket call court, putting green and rock climbing wall in their basement. Although, if I had it, I wouldn't object!

We had a blast seeing my family. Orrin got all his workouts in and I got all my family time in. We had a fabulous Valentines Day feast! We decorated really cute and even put sugar on the rim of our glasses.

I played enough hide and go seek with my nephews to last a lifetime. If you haven't heard them "whistle like grandpa" you sure are missing out. I just can't explain how cute it is in text, you have to hear it. So if you ever see them, ask them to do it. Adorable!

It was bitter sweet to come back to Salt Lake. Back to work and to school and never seeing each other until weekends. Who am I kidding.. it was just bitter to come back to Salt Lake!

Last weekend Orrin treated me to a night on the town. We attended the concert of Sweet Honey in the Rock. 6 black ladies from Washington D.C. and their soul music. It was one of the best concerts I have ever attended. They had such a great range and some wonderful songs. One lady signed the whole time. Way cool. The others did such interesting things with their voices. I was in love. Check them out here.

A lady in front of us who was in her 50's was rocking out like a child at a Wiggles Concert. She started bopping her head and moving her body within the first 2 seconds of a song. It was a little annoying but pretty funny. She also smelled like an airplane, that was way annoying and not even a little funny.

After the concert we took our chances at Baskin Robins. It really took me forever to choose 2 out of the 31 flavors.. but oh so yummy!

This weekend we are going to another Jazz concert! It's one guy, whose name I can't remember right now, but he can harmonize with himself! he sings while he breaths in.. It's going to be amazing.

My little sister came up this weekend with her friend Amber. Orrin developed a crush on Amber because she eats cream of wheat and protein shakes. OH and she's not bad looking either. It was fun to have them stay with us for a couple nights. We were sad to see them go. Sad for different reasons of course.

Orrin and I got in a fight this weekend. Don't need to go into details but here's the gist. Orrin needs sleep and since I was up late taking care of my hygiene it resulted in a fight.
I continued to be upset on Sunday but faked that we're getting along because we had the Hulets over for dinner. Wesley worked on our taxes.. we owe this year (damn) but he helped so we don't need to pay as much!

I made a yummy Manicotti, with a garden salad and even garlic bread. Steph brought ice cream and berries for desert, yumm!!

After our fun evening Orrin wants to do sexy things to me and I don't want him to because we're fighting.. remember? He didn't. More often than not, our verbal/emotional fights turn physical. I try to physically fight him off. I kicked him and hurt my leg so I was even more angry. Orrin used his weight to wrestle me and I used my limberness and to try to get him in his manhood. By the time we're done fighting.. we aren't usually mad anymore. All that fighting released it all. Unless I get mad that he is fighting me or I get hurt, in which case it starts a new emotional fight.

I like to think that all this wrestling and struggling is good for something. One day when someone breaks into my house to take advantage of me I will have had enough practice that I can defend myself! I can put him into the crucifix hold or know how to maneuver in just the right way to kick him where needed to make my escape!

We moved into a new office at work. It's about time too! I share a little reception area with another lady and there are about 5 other attorneys in the office. They are all pretty funny too which causes for some good laughs. It's a good thing for me. I was starting to go insane! I applied for another job though.. Hope I get it! It would give us more money, insurance and 1/2 of Orrins tuition paid! Wish me luck with that one.

School is school. I knew it would be hard to go into a career that was stock full of girls! Annoying stupid girls. However, there are a few cool ones. Some of them remind me of some of my current friends. There is one girl who seems really smart, nice and is a total spaz. However, that friend position is already filled. There is one girl who is Miss Popular , can do everything perfect and is "super (fake) nice" to everyone.. I don't need one of those.

It's midterms right now so I don't have school on Thursday.. I think I will treat myself to a tanning session and get my hair done. I can't go to cosmetology school and be the one girl with the bad roots now can I?

One last note. Pandora is my new favorite thing. I was so sick of listening to the same music at work and Pandora totally saved me! If you haven't used it, DO!
