July 4th fun

Orrin and I went down to Ferron this year for the 4th. We ditched school and took off Thursday after work. It was fun to have a day there just us before the rest of the family got there for the Holiday. Friday afternoon we got the horses together and went on a ride up Big Mountain with Orrin's dad and his Uncle and Aunt.
It was a beautiful ride. Lots to look at and it was so cool up in the mountains compared to down in the town.

I was excited to go but by the time the ride was 1/2 way through I was very saddle sore! It's been so long since I have been on a horse, let alone been on a long ride. I think the last time I was on a horse for more then 30 minutes was last time I helped herd my dads cows.. that had to be before I was 16! Like I said, years!

My poor little bottom was literally bruised the next day. Sad. Next time I'm using a different saddle and cutting the time spent on a horse in half!

We spent the afternoon of the 4th in Price at the wave pool. Who would ever guess that Price has the best wave pool there is? Not me! Seriously, the wave pools at water parks are sissy waves compared to the ones at Price.

It was SO much fun. I would get in sync with the waves enough that I could jump off the bottom of the pool and go up with the wave, but when I saw someone start to go under or get hit by a tube I would laugh, it threw me off so I went under too! That happened too many times. Orrin was trying to save me from going under once because I started laughing at someone but then he would go under because he was hanging on to me and that would take us both down. Not a good idea.

Orrin was at the very beginning of the waves, in the deep end and got sucked under by the grates where the water gets sucked in and sort of got trapped in that. Poor guy! He had to take 5 to recoup from that experience.

We had Orrin's older brother Weston with us who is 6'5 at least! ** Update.. he is 6'9.** Well he could stand at the deep end and hold 6 of us Lemons on our tubes so we wouldn't get pushed to the shallow end. Lemon Rules!

That evening we went out to the Farm to start a little bon fire to roast hot dogs and do our fire works out there. Well, the weather was against us and it started to rain before we finished our hot dogs!


We ate at home and after the rain stopped we went out on the tramp and enjoyed all the illegal fireworks from Wyoming that Brant and Laurel brought! It was loud and fun!

Sunday was relaxing but the end of our fun trip. 2 good runs in Ferron for the 4th of July.. I wonder what fun we're going to have next year!?
